Don’t miss the bus! The First and Third Fridays of Each Month

The Art Bus is Sponsored by Judy Marsales Real Estate Brokerage:

The ARTBus Refueled! will continue to check out Hamilton’s unique and constantly evolving art scene. Call me, Barbara, at (905.524.0606) or email to reserve your seat.

Cost: $15/$10 students/artists/seniors. Group rates available.  Start: 6:30 from The Pearl.

After 6 years of delivering arts enthusiasts to the door of local emerging galleries and studios, the ARTBus has become one of the icons of the Hamilton visual arts scene. It now begins anew ‘re-fuelled’! The renamed ‘ARTBus Hamilton’ will continue to visit established galleries but will seek new spaces and studios each month. Riders will enjoy a more interactive experience including demonstrations, artist/curator talks and exposure to special media nights (such as photography, pottery, graffiti, fine craft and glass). We’ll have guest ‘on-board’ curators, join studio tours, find pop-up and unconventional spaces, and tailor evenings by request for groups.  The Bus will travel now on the first and third Fridays and leave our patrons free to crawl on the second Tuesday.  The ARTBus Hamilton will continue to act as a ‘vehicle’ for the promotion of art; working to create a public appreciation of the contribution of fine art to our lives. The ARTBus Hamilton gets you and your friends to where it is all happening!

Sample BUS STOPS: (October ’13)

We will begin our evening with an artist talk and viewing of ‘Ambitious’ by Diane Beatty-Wearing currently showing at The Pearl Company. Diane will speak at 6:30pm. From there we will tour Joanna St Jacque’s new photography studio next to The Pearl; ‘Seeking the light in Darkness’ is Joanna St.Jacques very first photography exhibition featuring some Franklyn__s_Art_Show_at_Barb_and_Gary__s_048.jpgfamiliar and some not so familiar places in Hamilton.

AT 7pm we travel to the McMaster Innovation Park to view the ninth member’s show of ‘Art in the Workplace”; 120 works by over 50 local artists featuring paintings, photography and sculpture in this incredible multiuse building.
Next, to one of Hamilton’s newest galleries and an addition to the James North scene, Lister Arts. This commercial gallery is in the lovingly restored Lister Block and offers a collection of work by established area artists. We then visit the Nathaniel Hughson Gallery where artist Clarence Porter will speak about his current show ‘vancouVIEWS’ a new series of pastels. Clarence veers away from his past industrial and urban landscapes, the pastels in this exhibition are inspired by natural landscapes experienced by Porter visiting the Vancouver area last fall. Bus audiences will be familiar with Clarence’s past work from previous stops.
