NIA Classes, Wednesdays 5:00 to 6:00

Offered by Barbara Wight, Certified Blue Belt Nia Instructor. Come and discover Nia, an expressive body-mind movement form. Experience the grace of the dance arts, the power of the martial arts, and the awareness of the healing arts. Nia embraces fitness, health, personal growth, and fun!

Wikipedia tells us that Nia (Non-Impact Aerobics and Neuromuscular Integrative Action) “blends three dance arts (Isadora Duncan dance, modern dance, and jazz dance), three martial arts (aikido, tae kwon do, and tai chi) and three healing arts (Alexander Technique, yoga, and Feldenkrais). Nia classes are choreographed and accompanied by a wide variety of music styles.”

Wednesdays: 5:00pm to6:00pm, $10 / class or 5 classes for $45

Guitar Classes Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings

Gary Santucci guitaristGary Santucci, Composer/Guitarist, Classical and Flamenco Guitar Lessons is taking on new students. From beginner to advanced, Gary’s patient and effective teaching methods work for all. Even if you have never picked up a guitar before, Gary’s approach produces results!

Finger-style: Classical, Flamenco, Jazz, Folk, and more. Teaching Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings. $20 for 30 minutes.

Theatre of Liberation Community Project

The TLC Project, provides a unique, free after school learning experience for young people in Hamilton from the ages of 7 to 17. 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. September to June.
Featured Artists! Theatre . Dance . Music . Visual Arts . Film
The TLC Arts-Based Sessions use visual arts, team building, performance-based games, music, & dance to aid young people in:
• using their creative energy to inspire themselves & others
• artistically strengthening their sense of community
• building self-confidence & self-respect.
ARTWORKS and ARTISTIC ACTS of ArtNess for all ages.
Young people are encouraged to express themselves in artistic ways of their choosing: Participants are introduced to the TLC Project’s core program values taken from the UN Peace Manifesto 2000:
1) Respect All Life
2) Reject Violence
3) Share with Others
4) Listen to Understand
5) Preserve the Planet
6) Rediscover Solidarity
The TLC Project sets up a positive, safe, non-threatening space that allows young people to find their artistic voices & share ideas they hold dear.
Programmes are available for all age groups. Classes are held at The Pearl Company Theatre and Gallery.
