After 6 years of delivering arts enthusiasts to the door of local emerging galleries and studios, the ARTBus has become one of the icons of the Hamilton visual arts scene. It now begins anew ‘re-fuelled’! The renamed ‘ARTBus Hamilton’ will continue to visit established galleries but will seek new spaces and studios each month. Riders will enjoy a more interactive experience including demonstrations, artist/curator talks and exposure to special media nights (such as photography, pottery, graffiti, fine craft and glass). We’ll have guest ‘on-board’ curators, join studio tours, find pop-up and unconventional spaces, and tailor evenings by request for groups. The Bus will travel now on the first and third Fridays and leave our patrons free to do the James North Art Crawl on the second Friday. The ARTBus Hamilton will continue to act as a ‘vehicle’ for the promotion of art; working to create a public appreciation of the contribution of fine art to our lives. The ARTBus Hamilton gets you and your friends to where it is all happening!
Friday, December 1 BUS STOPS
A night of firsts….. We’ll begin our evening with a viewing of the Hamilton Sculptors Guild Fall/Winter Exhibition currently on at The Pearl Company. We will first travel to the McMaster Innovation Park and view over 200 pieces of newly hung work by local artists within the ‘Art in the Workplace’ program. The art in this building is changed every three months so we will be first on the scene to see the new work. We will then visit ‘Artiques’ one of Hamilton’s newest galleries at 380 King Street. This gallery/antique store has just opened this month to rave reviews. We will then travel back to the Pearl District to celebrate the grand opening of Joanna St. Jacques new photography studio/gallery and painter Gerardo Mansang’s new studio.
Three new art venues and two new exhibits at our favourite stops! Join us email@example.com.
