Dean Hollin: For the Love O’ Nat: May 28

FOR THE LOVE O’ NAT – CHRONICLING THE LIFE, TIMES & MUSIC OF NAT KING COLE: Dean Hollin presents another DeanHollin_2_.JPGof his popular “Musical Biographies”.  Saturday, May 28th,  8 pm.  $18 advance / $22 door.  An evening of memories and melodies, all tied together by one man — that tremendous crooner of the twentieth century, Nat King Cole. The songs: “A Blossom Fell”, “Route 66, “Mona Lisa”, “Straighten Up and Fly Right”, “Paper Moon”, “When I Fall In Love” and, the timeless “Stardust”! In direct keeping with the instrumentation of the original Nat King Cole Trio piano, rhythm guitar, and upright bass — Dean will be accompanied by a live jazz trio.  http://www.deanhollin.com

Concert: Patricia Cano, Nov 8

As part of the closing of our ‘Vanishing Beauty’ Amazonian Art Exhibition, Patricia Cano will launch her first album entitled “This Is the New World”. Patricia will be joined onstage by her musical partner and composer, Carlos Bernardo, Luis Orbegoso, her producer and arranger on drums, bongos and cajón, bass player Roberto Occhipinti, of The Sicilian Jazz Project, Maninho Costa on brazilian percussion, Marcus Ali tenor sax, and Peter Kim on trumpet.  (more…)

Art Bus, November 6, 7 and 13

Art_Bus.gifNovember 6: We’re off to the Carnegie Gallery for the start of the Arts Dundas Weekend, then east to Sunrise Gallery and back to Anastasia Gallery, Arctic Experience / McNaught Gallery, and finally Gallery 435.
November 7: The Art Bus is heading to the “Art in Action” Burlington Studio Tour. Enjoy the tour without having to worry about parking and directions! Meet at The Pearl Co or at the Kiss and Ride at Highwy 6 and Plains Rd., 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (more…)
